Current prediction methods utilize “after the fact” analyses and user opinion, making it difficult to perform quick, accurate, and effective analyses of potential limiting factors and policy changes, particularly in timesensitive situations. This paper describes the MAAF proof-of-concept model and decision support system built to provide AMC managers the dynamic, predictive tools needed to better forecast aircraft availability. The simulation component featured new capabilities for mobility modeling to include dynamic definition of the configuration of a mobility system, dynamic definition of the capabilities of the individual airbases within a mobility system, improved representation of the aircraft objects within the model, and a new approach to modeling aircraft maintenance including the realistic consideration of partially mission capable aircraft. The development efforts and sample experimental results are recounted in this paper.

The Mobility Aircraft Availability Forecasting (MAAF) model requirements definition research effort was initiated to help the United States Air Force, Air Mobility Command (AMC) answer the question, “How can we accurately predict mission capable (MC) rates?” Unfortunately, getting a perfect prediction of aircraft MC rates is not possible, either now or anytime in the foreseeable future. Although DEA is a powerful method in evaluating DMUs, it does have some limitations. One of the limitations of this method is the result of the evaluation is based on previously data and the results are not proper for forecasting the future changes. So For this purpose, we design feedback loops for forecasting inputs and outputs through system dynamics and simulation. Then we use DEA model to f...

Building performance simulation is being increasingly deployed beyond the building design phase to support efficient building operation. Specifically, the predictive feature of the simulation-assisted building systems control strategy provides distinct advantages in view of building systems with high latency and inertia. Such advantages can be exploited only if model predictions can be relied u...
متن کاملIntroduse and Need Assessment of Regional Aircrafts by Software and Modeling
An analysis was conducted to examine the market visibility of small aircraft as a transportation mode in competition with automobile and scheduled commercial air travel by estimating the pool of users that would potentially switch on-demand air travel due to cost/time saving. These new aircraft greatly increase the practicality of regional aircraft as a transportation mode that can avoid the co...
متن کاملModeling, simulation and analysis of a multi degree of freedom aircraft wing model
This paper presented methods to determine the aerodynamic forces that acton an aircraft wing during flight. These methods are initially proposed for asimplified two degree-of-freedoms airfoil model and then are extensivelyapplied for a multi-degree-of-freedom airfoil system. Different airspeedconditions are considered in establishing such methods. The accuracy of thepresented methods is verifie...
